OUR PASSIONATE CHEF
Many people go through life feeling unfulfilled. Why? From observation and experience, its because they are not operating in their PURPOSE or PURSUING their God given gift. Therefore, they fail to obtain the joy one receives when they are living their DREAMS and utilizing their God given TALENT. I was one of those people. I chased career after career and racked-up a good amount of student loans in the pursuit of finding my passion. I did everything from Cosmology, psychology, criminal justice and welding, to working as an aviation mechanic. I was never fulfilled! I received temporary satisfaction, because I made a decent salary and lived comfortably. I was taught to find a good job, get a 401K, and retire from it. However, that wasn't good enough for me; I wanted more! 2008 I was diagnosed with Hidradenitis Suppurativa and was told to lose weight. I began to experiment in the kitchen and found I actually loved to cook. It came naturally, my father was a Baker in Chicago before his death and my grandmother was a cook for the State of Mississippi before she became ill. Fast forward to 2012, while working at G.E. Aviation I accidentally started a catering company. I would cook meals for myself and take leftovers to work or prepare dishes for potlucks. Cooking turned into a business for me because my coworkers began to ask me to cook for various events. 2012, was the year Faye’s Catering was born. As my business began to grow, my love for the 9 to 5 decreased and I began to wrestle with myself about whether I wanted to take a risk and pursue cooking or stay at my safety net. Needless to say, I was terminated. After being terminated and told that I must lose weight to make my health issue more bearable; I decided to chase my passion and make a lifestyle change. I attended culinary arts school and graduated at the top of my class, changed my eating habits and lost 100 pounds. Today, I stand before you the First African American Executive Chef in Oxford, MS. Through my ups and downs I chose to keep God first, follow my heart, and always believe in myself. Kei Gourmet was created to motivate others to achieve their goals and to live a more fulfilling life. You deserve to enjoy great farm-fresh food with a little flavor, and a whole lot of God's love.
You are looking at someone who has struggled with obesity her entire life. I underwent the Gastric Bypass Weight Loss Surgery in 2016. Post operation I struggled, yet again, with portion size and with what I should be eating. I took for granted the surgery and thought I had it under control. After the “honeymoon” stage (where losing the weight was easy), I stalled. The weight just begun to pile back on. It was not until I had regained 30 pounds that I realized I had to do something, or the surgery would have been in vain. A close friend introduced me to “Kei Gourmet” and the rest is history! With their Meal Prep Plan, I was able to eat healthier, learn to control my portion sizes, lose the 30 regained pounds, and meet a new weight goal. Kei Gourmet delighted me with “Chef prepared meal creations” that did not bore me and were amazingly delicious. This type of clean eating will fit into any lifestyle. I am happy with my results! I highly recommend Kei Gourmet!!!!!!
